The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council voted for a resolution calling for Airport Board Chair Bernard Lovely to step down during a city council meeting Thursday.
The resolution comes on the heels of an investigation on former Executive Director of the Blue Grass Airport, Michael Gobb. Gobb resigned last week. He is accused of spending money on lavish dinners, guns and a Texas strip club.
The resolution also recommends the Airport Board suspend non-essential out-of-state travel for all Board members and Airport staff until after the audit by the state and recommending that no new appointments be made until after a state audit is complete.
