Police Planned Arrest Before Freeway Shootings

Police in Utah say they planned to arrest a former trooper, tied to the death of a Kentucky trucker.

Brian Smith went on a shooting spree last month after learning hours before that police planned to arrest him on burglary and robbery charges.

William Scott Miller of Frankfort was one of Smith's victims. He was killed on Interstate 635 in Dallas on December 17th.

10 minutes earlier, a 20-year-old man was shot to death in his car nearby.

Smith later shot himself after a brief standoff with police. He died on Christmas Eve.
