Goody's Family Clothing will begin liquidating it's stores, starting Friday, as the retailer becomes one of the year's first victims of the worsening economy.
The move comes less than four months after the retailer emerged from chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The Knoxville, Tennessee based chain has 287 stores scattered throughout 20 states.
It's not clear what will happen to the more than 9,000 workers, but without a new buyer, the outlook looks grim.
The Goody's in Hamburg in Lexington closed several months ago, but the Goody's at the new Richmond Center will also shut down. It was the first store to open in that complex.
