Fire crews worked most of Monday night trying to put out flames at an abandoned apartment building in Lexington.
The fire started around 7:00 p.m. at the Pennington Place Apartmens, formerly the English Manor Apartments, off New Circle Road and Codell.
Fire officials believe it started in an interior stairwell. Before crews could get a handle on it, the fire spread to several units, destroying them.
A cause has not been ruled, however officials are calling it suspicious because nobody was living in the building and the electricity has been cut off.
This isn't the first time firefighters have been called the vacant building. Just this past November, a fire destroyed several units.
Arson investigators were called to that fire as well as this latest one.
