Road crews across the street didn't take any chances late Monday into Tuesday morning.
In Lexington, streets started being treated with brine Monday afternoon even though the Winter Weather Advisory for the area ended up being cancelled early Tuesday.

Magic salt is a sweet smelling product, a blend of magnesium chloride, and a byproduct of bourbon mixed with salt.
The mixture is designed to be environmentally friendly and it's also said to be more effective when temperatures drop to single digits.
