LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Blue Grass Airport's Board of Directors elected a new chairman at its first meeting since revelations about questionable spending by top airport officials became public.
There was no mention of the scandal Tuesday morning as the board elected Robert Owens to replace Bernard Lovely as chair. Lovely's term was scheduled to end anyway, although some elected officials in Lexington had asked him to step down earlier in light of the investigation.
After electing its new officers, the airport board went into closed session to discuss undisclosed personnel matters.
Former airport executive director Michael Gobb resigned this month amid questions about his expenses.
Reports say Gobb spent more than $200,000 for travel in just more than two years. The credit card use of other top officials also is being probed.
