Our winter storm continues to dump heavy snow across central and eastern Kentucky. Look for our storm to taper off from northwest to southeast through the afternoon. One foot snow totals for several. Two foot snow totals for a few.
Temperatures have tumbled into the teens, forcing many people indoors.
Shelters in Lexington are bursting at the seams with people, looking for a place to get in out of the cold.
Lexington's Hope Center had 278 people overnight Wednesday, the highest number in the shelter's history.
In fact, there were so many in need, that backup shelters at two Lexington churches opened to handle the overflow.
The Catholic Action Center and the Salvation Army are also seeing a big influx of people as arctic air sits over the bluegrass.
