They looked like they were just sleeping, but two Kentucky travelers at a Florida rest stop were actually dead.

Kayla Hinton of Olive Hill and Kenneth Oldham of Morehead were discovered dead in a vehicle at a rest stop off I-95 outside Jacksonville.

Florida State Troopers say the pair were found laying down in the car, with their seats fully reclined. It's believed they went unnoticed for several days.

A maintenance worker finally alerted police to the bodies after detecting a foul odor coming from the car.

State Police are working hard to figure out why the couple went unnoticed so long, and how they died.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is one theory, but authorities won't go on th record with an exact cause until after an autopsy is performed.
