A woman and her 3-year-old nephew died the week before Christmas in a violent crash on an icy Montgomery County road.
They've been buried, but now friends and strangers are raising money to place tombstones on their graves.

There's a lot you could say about 3-year-old Jakob Cupps.

"He's a good big brother that could always make you smile and he played all the time," says Wesley Cupps, Jakob's father.

That young life was cut short too soon. Jakob and his aunt, 28-year-old Crystal Moler were killed in a car crash on December 16th. The family struggled with their burial.

"You never expect it and you just don't have money when you're in your early twenties. You don't have anything," says Wesley Cupps.

Jakob and his aunt were buried at the Winchester Cemetery without a tombstone. The family says they couldn't afford it. Now friends and strangers are stepping in to help."

"We want to get the young man a tombstone. We've set up a fund at the cemetery to help fund that project," says Chris Corman, with the Mountain Wrestling Association.

This Saturday, to help raise money for this a wrestling show will be held at Fannie Bush Elementary School in Winchester, the school Jakob would have gone to.

"We have videos of him to show and we will present his family with some things and it will be all about him," says Chris Corman.

All proceeds from the event will go toward getting Jakob a tombstone, with any extra money to go toward a scholarship in the young boy's name, and a second tombstone for his aunt.

It's something that means everything to this dad whose been through a lot this past month.

"It shows you how much people care," says Wesley Cupps.

A memorial for Jakob Cupps Will be held this Saturday night at 7:30 at Fannie Bush Elementary. Tickets are $8.00 for adults. Teens and kids 15 and under get in free. For more information on tickets, you can call (659) 539-6152.

You can also donate at the Winchester Cemetery toward the tombstone funds.
