There was a scare on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University Thursday night when a fire broke out.
EKU officials say the fire started on a loading dock behind the Powell Building. It only involved a few cardboard boxes, but some smoke went into the building.
Students and workers were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire was put out in a matter of minutes. The state Fire Marshal has been called in, as is procedure with any fire on campus.
EKU officials say this fire does not appear to be connected to a number of small fires set on campus last year.
Someone set fire to piles of trash three times at Dupree Hall and set another small fire at the Powell Student Center Building.
A $1,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest, but so far, there have not been any arrests.
