Kentucky Prepares For A Winter Blast

Another round of winter weather is settling into central Kentucky and that has road crews across the state getting ready.

Salt trucks in Lexington are loaded with salt. Many have been out all day from this morning's snow and will continue to cover the roads into the night, as more snow heads our way. The Department of Transportation in Frankfort is also preparing. It has crews on standby and is watching the approaching winter weather from the state's command center.

Snow, ice and freezing rain are all expected across much of Kentucky Monday night, into Tuesday and even Wednesday. We could see 2-4 inches of snow in the central and northern Kentucky area. Other parts of the state may see more freezing rain and sleet. Tune into 27 NEWSFIRST beginning at 5:00pm for the latest forecast from the First Alert Weather Center.
