After a wave of tens of thousands of layoff announcements across the country on Monday, the ax is about to fall in Lexington.
Lexmark will cut or transfer almost 160 jobs at its local headquarters. That's most of a total of 250 jobs being cut by the company.
About 125 other jobs will moved to countries with lower labor costs.
Lexmark is the only fortune five hundred company headquartered in Lexington and will still have more than 2,800 employees based here.
