The Begley Building on Eastern Kentucky University's campus will continue to serve as a Red Cross shelter for those residents still without power.

While the power has come back on for some residents, there are still 12,500 KU customers state-wide who are still sitting in the dark. In many cases, utility companies are having to clear fallen debris before making repairs to substations and transformers.

Debbie Bellairs, Red Cross, says, "We're not on the downhill at all. We have less resources because it's tapped out."

Also, roadways have improved in Madison County. The county has about 620 miles of roads, all of which have been cleared and re-opened for travel.
