FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Former Kentucky Budget Director Mary
Lassiter will be returning to the same post she left three months ago.
Lassiter had retired as the state budget director in October, along with a flood of state employees lured into retirement by incentives aimed at trimming the state's payroll.
Gov. Steve Beshear's spokesman, Jay Blanton, says Lassiter will resume her former job heading the state's budget office on Monday. Blanton says Lassiter's salary will be about $150,000, down from the $160,000 she made before her retirement.
Lassiter will be earning a state pension. Blanton says state law prevents Lassiter from earning a second pension during this next stint in state government.
