Dozens of Richmond firefighters will spend the next few days pounding the pavement to help those still in the dark, in an effort to protect their own neighbors.

With thousands still without power in Richmond alone, the Richmond Fire Deparment is heading out to neighborhoods hardest hit, making sure people are safe.

In the aftermath of the winter storms, people in Richmond are trying to get back to normal, but the city's fire department says the dangerous winter's effects still aren't over.

They're now handing out carbon monoxide detectors as people use alternative energy like generators to power their homes.
