Help For Homeowners

Governor Beshear is announcing a $1.5 million grant to help out homeowners facing foreclosure.

The governor made the announcement on Friday morning at a news conference also attended by Mayor Jim Newberry.

Included in the grant is funding for legal services, training and staffing for partner agencies that will provide foreclosure intervention and default counseling.

More than 2,000 Kentuckians have reached out to the Kentucky Homeownership Protection Center since August.

Kentucky Housing Corporation leaders say the best way to avoid foreclosure to contact them the moment you cannot make a payment.
