Heart Health Awareness

What people were wearing on Friday made a statement about heart health.

It was national Wear Red Day and is designed to alert women about the fact that heart disease is the leading cause of death in women.

Here in Kentucky, 19 women die every day from heart disease.

Nationwide, heart disease kills 460,000 women each year, more than the next five leading causes of death, including all cancer deaths combined.

The American Heart Association held health screenings Friday at Macys in Fayette Mall.

Organizers say that want to get the attention of women across this state.
