Jet Makes Emergency Landing In KY

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A United Airlines regional jet on its way
to St. Louis has landed in Louisville after the crew reported smoke
in the cockpit.
Louisville International Airport spokeswoman Trish Burke says
the jet departed Washington Dulles International Airport and landed
in Louisville at 2:20 p.m. EST.
United Airlines spokesman Jeff Kovick says 35 passengers and
four crew members were on board. No one was hurt, and the plane
landed safely in Louisville.
Kovick says the airline flew in a different plane, and the
passengers were being transported to the Lambert-St. Louis
International Airport Tuesday afternoon.
Kovick says it is not yet known what caused the smoke in the
cockpit.
