A 47-year-old Morgantown man has a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday to face a charge of driving under the influence in connection with a fatal traffic collision.

Ralph Adkins also faces a reckless homicide charge in the three vehicle crash last Wednesday that killed 52-year-old David McKinney of Morgantown.

State police say Adkins' truck left Morgantown Road in Warren County and struck a utility pole. Adkins' vehicle then went over an embankment and hit a tree.

State police say McKinney's motorcycle struck the utility pole and power lines as they were collapsing. A car driven by 27-year-old Jay Morgan ran off the road as the driver sought to avoid the crash scene.

Adkins is being held in the Warren County Regional Jail on bonds totaling 350-thousand dollars cash. Morgantown is 22 miles northwest of Bowling Green.
