Fiery Crash Leads To Traffic Backup

I-75 northbound in Whitley County was closed for several hours after a tractor trailer caught fire and burned Wednesday morning.

It happened just north of Williamsburg and led to a big backup on the interstate.

Police say the driver of the truck, Ottis Donaldson or Warsaw, Indiana, was driving south when his truck caught fire.

Donaldson pulled over and tried to put out the fire, but wasn't able to so so. He was not hurt.

The truck was carrying scrap aluminum, which also caught fire. The truck is a total loss.

The southbound lanes are shut down and there's no word on when they'll reopen.
