Fayette County Superintendent Stu Silberman says Bryan Station High School teacher Anthony Graves has been fired based on allegations of inappropriate contact with a Fayette County Public School student.

Police arrested Graves Friday. He appeared in Fayette District court Monday afternoon where he was assigned a public defender. He'll be back in court next week.

School officials say the alleged inappropriate conduct did not occur on school property. The alleged victim, who is a 15 year old student, is not a student at Bryan Station High School.

Graves had just begun his fifth year with the Fayette County Public Schools. It was his first year at Bryan Station High School. Previously he taught at Tates Creek Middle School.
