The Fayette County Health Department says there are two new cases of rabies in Lexington.
One involves a horse on North Yarnalton Pike, the other a skunk on Abbeywood Pike.
The health department has posted signs in both neighborhoods, warning residents of the danger.
There have been five cases of rabies in Lexington so far this year. Last month, two skunks and a fox tested positive for rabies.
There were four reported rabies cases in the city in all of 2008.
