Two more Kentuckians have been diagnosed with E. coli -- bringing the number of confirmed E. coli cases in the state to six.

Two women in their 20s are the latest to be infected. One of the women is from Hopkins County, the other is from McCracken County.

The E. coli cases are potentially related to a national outbreak of the infection that's linked to tainted bagged spinach.

The Kentucky Department for Public Health is recommending that people avoid eating all fresh spinach and all products that contain fresh spinach to prevent E. coli infection. The department says frozen spinach products or other fresh produce items are not affected.
