A jury has recommended the death penalty for a Lexington man who was convicted of a triple murder that happened in Adair County.

A jury in Bowling Green recommended the death sentence for William Meece late Monday night.

The jurors convicted Meece Friday of the shooting deaths of Veterinarian Joseph Wellnitz, along with Wellnitz's wife and son.

Prosecutors say Meece planned the murders with the couple's daughter to collect inheritance money.
