A Bourbon County man's home drew a huge crowd as smoke and flames billowed from the roof. It seemed everyone in the area around 15th Street in Paris knew it was on fire, except for the man inside.
Ron Mattox was in the basement of his home when he heard the doorbell ringing and pounding on the door. He says it was people outside, yelling for him to get out of the burning structure. He did just that, and minutes later the roof collapsed and the entire building was engulfed in flames.
Mattox raised his three kids in that home, and lived there for more than forty years. He says the loss of his house is tough, but he's glad to be alive.
