Some scary moments for the employees at the Papa John's on Nicholasville Road in Lexington Saturday night. An armed man reportedly robbed the pizza shop at about 8:00 p.m.

Police say the man came into the store brandishing a small caliber handgun and demanded employees to give him all the money in the cash register. Once they did that, he demanded that they open the safe. When they couldn't get it open, he fired a shot into a wall. He then ran off and police say he likely got away in a car.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 40s. He was last seen wearing a black "Starter" hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and safety glasses. He also has a reddish/blonde goatee.

Police say they have obtained surveillance video and forensic evidence to aid them in their investigation.
