More than 150 National Guard soldiers representing the 223rd Military Police Company returned home today after a ten-month deployment in Iraq.
The men and women performed force protection missions, guarded military installations, manned security checkpoints were assigned to personal security details that protected coalition forces.
This was the company's second deployment to Iraq. They also participated in the 2003 invasion of the country.
More than 10,000 Kentucky Army and Air National Guard troops have been deployed worldwide in the Global War on Terror since September 11, 2001.
