BAGHDAD (AP) - Roadside bomb struck a minibus filled with Shiite
pilgrims returning to Baghdad today. At least eight people were
killed and more than 20 others wounded in the latest of a series of
deadly attacks targeting the pilgrims.
The attacks follow a series of bombings last week targeting
pilgrims on their way to a religious celebration in Karbala.
Sixty people died and nearly 200 were hurt in those attacks.
Hundreds of thousands of Shiite pilgrims converged on Karbala in
recent days. They were marking the end of 40 days of mourning that
follow the anniversary of the seventh-century death of one of
Shiite Islam's most revered saints, the Prophet Muhammad's grandson
