North Korea Missle Launch Could be Ready in 2 Weeks

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - A news report says North Korea could
complete preparations to fire a long-range missile within the next
two weeks at the earliest.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency quotes Seoul's defense chief,
who delivered a closed-door report to ruling Grand National Party
leaders. The Defense Ministry says it cannot confirm the report.
South Korea and the U.S. have warned Pyongyang of sanctions and
other consequences.
North Korea is believed to be gearing up to test-fire its
longest-range missile.
Pyongyang claims it has the right to "space development." It
has used the phrase in the past to disguise a missile test as a
satellite launch.
Amid the tensions, South Korea and the United States plan to
conduct an annual military exercise next month.
North Korea calls such drills a rehearsal for invasion.
