Two Indiana Officers Shot

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Two Jeffersonville police officers were shot when they responded to a call at a motel off Interstate 65.

A police dispatcher says the officers were taken to a hospital in nearby Louisville, Ky., early Thursday evening. The dispatcher didn't know their conditions.

Guests at the motel told the Louisville Courier-Journal that there was an argument between a guest and a man visiting that guest.

Two officers responded, and the man pulled a gun and shot the two officers, the guests said. He then escaped.

Police, including SWAT officers, were swarming the motel in Jeffersonville Thursday night.
