Two Police Officers Ambushed, Shot

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Police in southern Indiana have arrested two suspects in the ambush shootings of two Jeffersonville officers.

A SWAT team in nearby Louisville, Ky., pursued another suspect.

Police say Vincent Windell Jr. was arrested in New Albany and Kyle Bieber was arrested in neighboring Clarksville.

Police say the two men acknowledged being in the motel room where the shots were fired last night, hitting Jeffersonville Cpl. Dan Lawhorn and Patrolman Keith Broady. The officers are hospitalized in stable condition.

Police were still seeking Robert Datillo, who police said is Bieber's uncle.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin said the officers were shot at a Jeffersonville Motel 6 after responding to reports of illegal drug activity. Police say drugs and two pipe bombs were found in the room.
