The city of Lexington will come into play as President Obama talks about his $787 billion recovery plan for the nation.
Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry departed for Washington, D.C. early Friday.
He is scheduled to meet with the president and members of his cabinet.
Mayor Newberry is one of 75 mayors from across the country to attend the event.
He spoke exclusively to 27 NEWSFIRST before he left.
Mayor Newberry said he hasn't decided whether to run for re-election in 2010.
Former mayor Teresa Isaac says she will run again then.
