A storm complex will affect our region again today. Expect scattered storms to pick up during the afternoon hours. Damaging winds, flooding and lightning are the main concerns as these storms roll through.
A fire damages a building at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington.
The flames broke out around 5:30 Sunday afternoon at the facility off Leestown Road.
Fire crews say a staff member and her two children live in the home. The woman told investigators she may have left the stove on when she left the home.
She reported the fire to security on the property when she returned home.
Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
The damage was mostly contained to the kitchen, but an adjacent room suffered some smoke and water damage. The duplex next door suffered only smoke damage.
No one was hurt.
Firefighters did remain on the scene after the fire was extinguished to make sure it didn't reignite.
