After hours of cleanup, the Westbound lanes of I-64 are back open near Mt. Sterling.
A tractor-trailer and a car collided and overturned near the 110 Mile marker early Monday morning
Police say the car was heading towards Mt. Sterling in the Eastbound lanes when the driver lost control and crossed the median into the Westbound lanes.
The car then collided with a tractor-trailer. Both vehicles flipped and three people were rushed to the local hospital.
Police spent more than 7 hours dealing with the aftermath of the crash before the lanes were re-opened.
Part of the problem was small diesel fuel spill that took hours to clean up.
Police believe all three people involved in the crash will recover.
They say Kentucky State Police officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
