They've been playing for years, but it finally payed off. A group of co-workers at the Georgetown Toyota plant has won a big lottery prize.
The group matched five of the six numbers in Saturday's Powerball drawing and have taken home $200,000 as a result.
James "tony" Douglas claimed the prize on behalf of the group. He checked the ticket on Saturday night and realized they had won big.
"I couldn't wait to share the excitement so I started calling people right away," Tony said. "Everybody was shocked and some thought I was playing a prank," he told lottery officials.
The 13 players have been playing Powerball together for more than two years.
The winning ticket was sold at Citgo Shelbyville on Boone Station Road. The store will receive a selling bonus of $2,000.
