LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - One of the legal experts examining whether
to reopen an investigation into the 1977 Beverly Hills Supper Club
fire says the panel is sending its recommendation to Gov. Steve
Beshear next week.
Cecil Dunn was a special prosecutor in the original probe into
the fire that killed 165 people. He was one of the lawyers Beshear
appointed in October to look into claims by eyewitnesses that arson
may have been the cause.
Investigators at the time concluded that faulty electrical
wiring ignited the fire. But David Brock, a busboy at the nightclub
when it burned down, insists he has evidence the blaze was
Dunn declined to disclose any of the findings in an interview
Thursday with The Associated Press. He said the panel was
"polishing up" the report.
