Crews continue to battle a forest fire in eastern Kentucky.

The crews in Jackson County were called out on Thursday afternoon to a fairly large forest fire there.

It was near the Annville community in a very rural area, close to the Clay County line.

Forestry officials tell us it was 15 acres when they arrived . They even called in a second crew, which brought a bulldozer to try and create barriers.

Forestry officials told 27 NEWSFIRST on Friday morning that the fire is now under control.

Also on Friday, crews were fighting 15 fires in five counties. Those are in Breathitt, Bell, Clay, Harlan and Knox counties.

We're told two of the fires in Bell County were more than 50-acres in size.
