A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for for much of northern and eastern Kentucky until 9 p.m. This is just east of the Lexington metro.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville police and jail officials say one man died after being chased by police into a downtown parking lot.
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Phil Russell says the man, whose identity was not released, died under a vehicle Friday morning in The Courier-Journal's parking lot.
Louisville Metro Corrections spokeswoman Pam Windsor says the man, who was being held on nonviolent charges, had been erroneously released from jail Thursday evening. Windsor says an investigation led the U.S. Marhsal's Fugitive Task Force to find the man in downtown Louisville Friday morning.
A short foot chase ensued and ended in the parking lot. Windsor says officers did not fire their weapons.
Windsor says the incident is under investigation.
