A major winter storm is on the way to the bluegrass state. Local high water issues are possible early Wednesday and that will be followed up by heavy snow and sleet. Significant accumulations are likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
A man is dead after being run-over by a car Tuesday night outside his home.
The victim, 75-year-old Ralph Back, was taking out the trash at his home along U.S. 460 in Jeffersonville, in Montgomery County when he was hit.
The accident happened at around 9:00 Tuesday night.
The Sheriff's Department says Back was taking his trash bin to the curb when some debris blew into the road. He went to pick it up and was hit by an oncoming car.
Back was airlifted from the scene, but we're told he passed away on his way to UK Hospital.
The coroner says Back died from blunt force trauma to the head.
The Montgomery County Sheriffs Department says it has ruled this accidental and no charges have been filed.
