Man Found Guilty In Repo Murder

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A jury has found a Lexington man guilty of
murder for shooting a man trying to repossess his car.

Brandon C. Robinson was charged in the 2007 death of 45-year-old
David S. Smith, who was repossessing Robinson's vehicle when he was

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that defense lawyers argued
that Robinson was acting under extreme emotional disturbance and
should be convicted of the lesser offense of manslaughter.

Prosecutors said that there was "no reasonable excuse" for
Robinson's actions.

The jury recommended a 40-year-sentence on the murder charge and
five years for tampering with evidence.

Circuit Judge Thomas Clark set formal sentencing for April 10.
