High Speed Police Chase Through Two Counties

A dangerous high speed chase, that spanned through two counties, ended in Lexington Monday afternoon.

Winchester Police say it all started with a drug sting on Bells Alley.

Police say at one point in the chase, the suspect tried to run over two police officers.

The chase continued from Clark County down Lexington Avenue.

Police say the suspect then hit another vehicle by the Sky View Drive In.

The chase also passed WKYT's studios as cameras rolled.

The pursuit finally came to an end in Lexington on North Limestone, near Duncan Park, where police say the suspect ditched the car and fled.

Police arrested the man driving that car.

He has been identified as 25-year-old Kenneth Baumgardener.

Police say there was a passenger in the car, but that person is still on the loose.

Baumgardener is charged with multiple counts of wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest and other charges.
