He was the victim of an unthinkable crime. Ralph Michaels, who was brutally beaten inside his Scott County home in 2007, died Monday.
Michaels, 75, and his wife Mattie spent several weeks in the hospital after Stanley Stander randomly broke into their home and beat them.
Stander is now serving 30 years for the crime.
Michaels served for nearly 50 years with the Salvation Army in Ohio and Lexington.
Funeral arrangements are being worked out by Michaels' family, and will likely take place in Ohio.
