An 8-week old puppy is recovering after being thrown from a moving vehicle.

The lab-mix puppy was reportedly abandoned by its owner Friday in Danville. Wokers at the Downtown CVS store say a red car drove by and someone inside opened the car door and threw the dog out. Many were worried the small animal would be run over, so the authorities were immediately called. She was rescued by humane society wokers within minutes.

The puppy, who's been named Lucy, is now at the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society; and will soon be up for adoption.
