Kentucky Unemployment Rates Fall in August

Kentucky's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell from 6.3 percent in July to 5.8 percent in August.

The Office of Employment and Training reports the August jobless
rate also was below August 2005s rate of 6.2 percent.

According to the seasonally adjusted employment data, Kentucky's
manufacturing sector recorded 5300 more jobs in August this
year than in July.

Compared to August last year, the sector had 1700 fewer positions in August this year than in August last year.
