There's been a disturbing discovery at a Lexington cemetery. A woman walking her dog has found an infant's body.
Police responded to Hillcrest Memorial Park on Versailles Road, where the body was found late Thursday afternoon.
The body was found toward the back of the cemetery, near an apartment complex.
Police say it is too soon to tell the gender of the baby, or how old it was at the time of death.
An autopsy will be done on the body to figure out if the child was stillborn or died after birth.
Right now, police are calling it a death investigation, not a homicide investigation.
Police have been canvassing the area, trying to figure out if anyone saw anything. They've been talking to people at nearby businesses and people who live in the adjacent apartment complex.
