It's been the story that's talked about all day: the future of UK coach Billy Gillispie.

Coach Gillispie is having a meeting this afternoon with President Lee Todd and Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart about Gillispie's future with the school.

Gillispie, himself, confirmed the meeting to 27 NEWSFIRST.

After UK's loss in the NIT Wednesday night, Lee Todd was quoted as saying no announcement about Gillispie's future would come before Friday.

If and when a news conference is called, WKYT will carry that live. We'll also have continuous updates on wkyt.com.

I hope Billy gets every dime that is due him the $6 million dollars and plus some. I also pray he finds another coaching position soon, turn that program around, and wipe up the floors with UK. Todd and Mitch and two sneaky low life, high paid, cheats. Karma comes quick and believe me its no fun.

I don't follow UofK anymore, and I don't know Gillespie, but it seems awfully stupid to fire someone so quickly. I know that the fans expect a lot but I hope that they know that maybe they have a own part of the failure. Gillespie was a coach not a god. What he did as a single man, whether he was social with the fans should not be a concern. All that bad mouth and complaining surely had to be an unnecessary stress upon the man. What does stress and unhappiness do to people-usually makes for a bad performance. So, UK fans, quit your crying or you will find yourself with a team no one with a brain will want to coach. Get your own lives and quit worrying about the coach's. Basketball really is just about a game. Perhaps you should be so feverish about your educational system.
