Animal Abuse Investigation Underway In Southern Ky.

An investigation is underway into possible animal abuse.

State police were at a Pulaski County farm on Friday afternoon, near the Laurel County line.

Humane Society officials say two dead horses were found and about 70 dogs. Officials say none of the dogs were in bad shape.

No charges have been filed.

Officials say the investigation came after several complaints.

"Within the past 6 months, there's been several complaints of animal neglect. The horses are thin. There was, several months ago, a dead horse at the residence," said Melody Kretzshmer with the Pulaski Co. Humane Society.

The caretaker says he makes sure the animals get enough to eat. Officials say he may have simply been overwhelmed.
