Four people are behind bars after a meth lab bust in Rockcastle County, where police say six children were found inside in the home.
Roger Vaughn, Merrill Brown, Amy Vaughn, and Carrie Benge are all facing multiple charges including 1st degree Methamphetamine and 2nd degree Wanton Endangerment.
Kentucky state police raided the home on McHargue Branch Road, netting four adults in an alleged meth-making operation. But police also tell us they found six children staying in the home where they made the bust.
State police say they were notified about a fight at the home Sunday night. When they arrived at the home they say they smelled a strong, suspicious odor. When they searched the home they found a meth lab.
Police say the kids in the home were inhaling the toxic chemicals.
The kids were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated and released.
State police say the home is still highly toxic. A Hazmat crew did an initial clean, but police say the residents will be responsible for the full cleanup.
Police say the Department for Children and Families has stepped in and is also investigating.
