Two Girls Swept Away By Flood Waters In Lexington

The coroner's office identified the two women killed Saturday as 25-year-old Lindsey Harp of Frankfort and 25-year-old Lauren Fannin of Lexington.

We're told one of the women initially tripped on a storm drain and was swept away by high waters. The second attempted to aid her friend and was swept away as well.

Rescue crews, on the scene at the time of the accident aiding stalled motorists, worked frantically but were unsuccessful at saving the two women.

The two women were found more than a mile away from where they entered the water. One of the women was found at Bob-O-link Drive, the other was found at Spring Hill Drive near Lafayette High School.
