Taxes Go Up On Alcohol, Cigarettes

Starting Wednesday, you'll be paying a little more at the liquor store.

A new state tax on cigarettes and alcohol is now in effect.

The legislature passed the bill earlier this year as a way to overcome a massive budget shortfall.

A bottle of liquor now costs about two dollars more and the price of a carton of cigarettes went up by about ten dollars.
